Chi è questa pimpante ragazzina?

«Rich was raised in the Chicago suburb of Orland Park, Illinois.

Rich began her career at Chicago’s iO Theater, where she was part of an opening act called “The Katydids”, a group composed of 6 women whose nicknames were derived from Katherine. During her time at iO, Rich also performed in a sketch show that she created with fellow comedian Kate Duffy called “The Mary Kay Letourneau Players Present”. She left iO to join The Second City, a comedy troupe with which she toured for three and a half years before moving to its mainstage cast. While in the mainstage cast, Rich performed in the show “South Side of Heaven”, among others.

In December 2013, Rich was hired to write for Saturday Night Live. She was recommended for the job by SNL cast member Cecily Strong, a friend of Rich’s who was her understudy during her time at The Second City. Rich is one of four writers who work exclusively on SNL’s “Weekend Update” segment.

In 2015, she, along with her fellow Saturday Night Live writers, was nominated for a Writer’s Guild Award for Comedy/Variety – Sketch Series.

In addition to her work on “Weekend Update”, Rich has appeared in the films Ice Harvest and Bad Johnson, as well as in commercials for Discover Card and Walmart.

Rich studied at Carl Sandburg High School before earning her degree at Northwestern University. As of at least September 2015, she divides her time between New York City and Chicago.

In July 2015, Rich married Devlin Murdock, a programs director for Recovery on Water, a rowing club for breast cancer survivors.

Rich revealed, in a speech at PeaceLove ‘s May 2015 Peace of Mind Speaker Series, that she suffers from anxiety and panic disorder.» [Fonte]

The Washington Times. 2017-01-23. SNL writer Katie Rich issues apology after being suspended for Barron Trump tweet

A writer for NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” apologized Monday for a tweet targeting 10-year-old Barron Trump, son of President Donald J. Trump, after being suspended from the show.

Katie Rich, 33, was suspended immediately after her Friday tweet and the suspension is indefinite, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Ms. Rich, who posted an Inauguration Day tweet saying that “Barron will be this country’s first homeschool shooter,” initially took down her Twitter page amid a firestorm of criticism, but then reactivated the account Monday in order to post a public apology.

“I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet,” said Ms. Rich. “I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I’m so sorry.”

The Friday tweet prompted a rash of online petitions calling for NBCUniversal to fire Ms. Rich, a writer for “Saturday Night Live” since December 2013, for picking on the youngest of the president’s five children.

“Online bullying of children (including and especially those in our White House!) by any adult is unacceptable behavior and should not be tolerated under any circumstances,” said a Change.org petition that had collected more than 38,000 signatures as of Monday.

The New York Times. 2017-01-23. Katie Rich of ‘S.N.L.’ Is Suspended for Tweet Mocking Barron Trump

Katie Rich, a writer for “Saturday Night Live,” has been suspended from her position at that show following a widely criticized post she made Friday on her personal Twitter account in which she mocked Barron Trump, the 10-year-old son of President Donald J. Trump.

She was suspended immediately after her tweet, and her suspension is indefinite, according to someone familiar with the plans at “S.N.L.,” who was not authorized by NBC to comment on personnel matters.

That tweet on Friday, during Mr. Trump’s inauguration ceremony, drew widespread condemnation, and Ms. Rich subsequently deleted the post and deactivated her Twitter account. Her name did not appear in the closing credits of “Saturday Night Live” in its broadcast on Saturday.

On Monday afternoon, Ms. Rich reactivated her account and posted a message that said: “I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I’m so sorry.”

The suspension of Ms. Rich, who was hired to join “S.N.L.” at the end of 2013, comes at a delicate time for the program, when it has felt emboldened to lampoon Mr. Trump but has faced his swift retaliation on Twitter.

Following the show’s broadcast of Jan. 14, in which the actor Alec Baldwin played Mr. Trump in a parody of his news conference from earlier that week, Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter the following day:

“NBC News is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!”

Mr. Trump made no public comments about Saturday’s show, in which Mr. Baldwin did not appear. NBC said on Monday that Mr. Baldwin will host “Saturday Night Live” on Feb. 11 and appear throughout that program.
